Free Keyword Density Analyzer
Keyword density tells you how often a word or phrase appears relative to your total word count — and it still matters for SEO. Stuff too many keywords into a page and Google may flag it as keyword stuffing, hurting your rankings. Use too few and search engines may miss what your page is about. The sweet spot for a focus keyword is roughly 1–2%. This free keyword density analyzer checks your text for 1-, 2-, and 3-word phrases, calculates each phrase’s density, and flags over-optimization before you publish. Paste your draft or fetch any live URL to audit a competitor’s page. It runs entirely in your browser — your content is never uploaded or stored.
At least 50 words for a meaningful analysis. Pasted text never leaves your browser.

Frequently asked questions
What is keyword density?
Keyword density is the percentage of times a word or phrase appears compared to the total word count. If the phrase “ai tools” appears 10 times in a 500-word article, its density is 2%. It helps you see which terms dominate your content and whether you are repeating a keyword too much — or too little.
What is the ideal keyword density?
For your focus keyword, aim for roughly 1–2%. Above 2.5%, you risk looking like keyword stuffing to Google, which can hurt rankings. Below 0.5%, search engines may not clearly understand your page’s topic. Modern SEO cares more about natural language and topical coverage than hitting an exact number, so treat density as a sanity check, not a target to game.
What are stop words and why remove them?
Stop words are ultra-common words like “the”, “and”, “is”, “with”, or “you” that appear in almost every text and carry no SEO meaning. This analyzer filters out about 150 of them so the results surface the phrases that actually describe your content — the terms worth optimizing — instead of drowning them in filler.
Can this check my competitor’s page?
Yes. Switch to “Fetch from URL” mode and paste any public page address. The tool pulls the page’s readable text through a free proxy and runs the same analysis, so you can compare keyword usage, spot content gaps, and see which phrases competitors emphasize. Some sites block automated fetching; if that happens, copy and paste the text manually.
